What you need to know
The schauinsland-reisen Christmas Market, with the extraordinary scenery of the Landscape Park Duisburg North as a backdrop, is now entering its fourth year with a new spatial concept and will be held from 29 November to 1 December 2019.
Artisans and artists whose products are exclusively self-made will once again be invited to take part in this event (see also the following admission criteria). Resellers are not allowed, and we pay very close attention to these criteria throughout the application process.
But we also pay attention to the constructive suggestions and comments of past exhibitors in order to continue to improve the overall "Christmas Market" package.

The event offers artisans and artists an attractive and first-class environment for showcasing and selling their products, and the products offered and their decorative presentation should enhance the event. The aim is to create an attractive, varied, comprehensive and balanced range of products.
The application is open to artisans and artists involved in the design and production of consumer goods and applied arts, either as unique items or in limited editions.
The products offered for sale must be handmade by the seller. Imported and trade goods as well as industrially or mass-produced products are not accepted. Resellers are not allowed.
If more applications are received than are compatible with the overall balance of the event or should places still be available, the selection of applicants is based exclusively on the purpose of the event and the attractiveness of the product range and its appearance.
In the central area of the Landscape Park, with its fascinating backdrop of blast furnaces and its enchanting light installation, there are about 70 - 80 exhibitor spaces in the outdoor area on the Piazza Metallica and the Casthouse Forecourt, and about 40 exhibitor places in the interior in the Blower House Complex.
To ensure a harmonious and stylish ambience for the presentation of the product range in the outdoor area, we offer white pagoda tents measuring 3 x 3 m and 4 x 4 m including wooden floor, basic lighting and power connection. To preserve the overall balanced appearance of the event, bringing your own tents or pavilions is not allowed.
For the indoor area we provide stalls designed as double stands with a table area measuring 5 m wide and 1 m deep. To achieve a varied and comprehensive range of products, the stands are as a rule planned for 2 participants. This should only be deviated from with good reason and in exceptional cases. The table areas of the stalls we provide are uniformly decorated with floor-length, burgundy molton fabric. Each stand is also equipped with basic and presentation lighting. There are three sockets per double stand for self-installed lighting equipment. The intention is that the indoor area is primarily reserved for moisture-sensitive and special products.
The power sockets both indoors and outside can be loaded with a maximum output power of 2 KW each. Please contact us should you have any additional power requirements.
A limited numbers of open spaces are also available both indoors and outside to participants with a range of products not suitable for presentation in a tent or on a market stall, for example because of size, weight, style or for safety reasons (open fire or light). Detailed requirements, in terms of size and use for example, can be discussed with us.
Applications concerning food or drink are not required anymore.
€70.00 plus VAT per event day for a pagoda tent measuring 3 x 3m in the outdoor area including wooden floor, basic lighting and power connection
€90.00 plus VAT per event day for a pagoda tent measuring 4 x 4m in the outdoor area including wooden floor, basic lighting and power connection
Open spaces in the outdoor area are calculated individually based on the type of use and size.
€80.00 plus VAT per event day for a basic indoor stand with a 2.50 x 1.00 m table surface including lighting and power connection
€150.00 plus VAT per event day for a basic indoor stand with a 5.00 x 1.00 m double floor space (only in exceptional cases) including lighting and power connection
Open spaces in the indoor area are calculated individually based on the type of use and size.
Applications may be made until 30 April 2019. After applicants have been selected we will confirm acceptance or rejection by 31 May 2019.
The following times are available for setting up the product range and decorating the stands:
Thursday 28 Nov 2019: 10 am - 10 pm
Friday 29 Nov 2019: 8 am – midday
Friday 29 Nov 2019: 1 pm - 10 pm
Saturday 30 Nov 2019: 1 pm - 10 pm
Sunday 1 Dec 2019: 10 am - 8 pm
Removal of goods and decorations:
Sunday 1 Dec 2019: 8 pm - 11 pm
