10. Schauinsland-Reisen Christmas Market: Advent magic and exquisite handicrafts
The premium craft market invites visitors to browse and marvel at the unique backdrop of the illuminated ironworks and the atmospheric blast furnace hall. More than 120 exhibitors present handmade unique items – from jewellery, ceramics and stationery to fine culinary creations.
Visitors can watch the artisans at work and experience a wide variety of techniques such as woodworking and jewellery design live. This makes the market a special place where generations come together.
Since its premiere at the Kraftzentrale, the market has continued to develop and is now one of the most popular Advent markets in the region. Around 30,000 guests attended last year. This year, visitors can look forward to an even more diverse programme: in addition to high-quality arts and crafts, family-friendly activities such as a children's carousel and hands-on activities organised by the city library will provide plenty of fun.
In addition, schauinsland-reisen is making the popular puppet theatre for families possible, which will take place throughout the weekend in the Hüttenmagazin. The name sponsor schauinsland-reisen is presenting a special highlight in the Gießhalle: on Friday, 28 November 2025, the company is inviting visitors to a world record attempt.

Advance sales
Advance ticket sales for the Christmas market will begin on Wednesday, 1 October 2025. Adults pay €6.50, children under 12 are admitted free of charge. Tickets are available exclusively online at www.lichtermarkt.ruhr and at the Duisburg Tourist Information Office, Königstraße 86, 47051 Duisburg, and are valid for one visit.
A ticket is required for the entire event area (outdoor area, blower hall, casting hall). During the event, tickets are available on site at the landscape park at the entrance to the schauinsland-reisen Christmas market.
