Information on the site

This is a site covering an extensive area where paths have a variety of different surfaces and assistance is needed beyond the central area. Entry to the Visitors’ Centre and the Restaurant Hauptschalthaus is at ground level (consistent door width of at least 90 centimetres).

There are plenty of places on the site where visitors can sit and have a rest. Guide dogs for the blind are of course permitted.

Toilets

There are five toilets for the disabled at the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord. There’s a public toilet at the Visitors’ Centre and Restaurant. The other disabled toilets are situated in the events locations (Power Plant, Casting House and Storeroom).

The toilet with wheelchair access at the Visitors’ Centre and Restaurant is kept locked, and the Eurokey can be obtained from the Visitors’ Centre.

Car parking

There are altogether ten disabled parking spaces at the main car park on Emscherstrasse (10 metres from the entrance) and at the Lösorter Strasse car park (50 metres from the entrance).

Public transport

Bus routes 903 and 902 stop at the ‘Landschaftspark’ bus stop, which is approx. 700 metres from the entrance.

Notes for wheelchair users
Depending on the event, there are reserved spaces for wheelchair users and their companion in the various events venues. If you’d like to reserve one of these spaces, please contact us in advance by email to Enable JavaScript to view protected content.. The events venues are either at ground level or accessible via a ramp or lift.

With regard to the ramps:
Step/curb maximum 3 cm
Incline less than 6% (except for Power Plant)
Ramp length less than 6 metres (if not, there are intermediate platforms)
Note: assistance is needed in the Power Plant because of the incline of the ramps.

With regard to the lifts:
Lift door at least 90 cm wide
Lift depth at least 140 cm
Operating buttons no higher than 130 cm

Notes for visitors with mobility problems
The paths to the events locations are provided with plenty of places to sit down.

Notes for the visually impaired and blind
The Landschaftspark’s team is happy to answer your questions about finding your way about and attending events. Taking a guide dog to events venues is, of course, permitted.
