Set-up and Action

The 5-acre site of the smelting works built almost 100 years ago is the ideal background for events organized for incentive programs and on other occasions. It looks like the scenery from a film and actually serves as a stage for motion pictures. The Park is a perfect setting for television and cinema movies. The towering blast-furnaces, full of contrasts, create the atmosphere of suspense needed for action and visual effects. The Park is also an attractive location for entertainment and is a unique set for the highlights of any program from major events for which the entire Park is hired to an indoor night in a breathtaking environment.

With its richly varied spectrum of functions, the park is filled with pulsating life. Much praise has been lavished on its play areas, set in the unique surrounding of an industrial heritage museum. The Engine House, Blower House and Cast House boast stages that may be used for spectacular performances. On some 220 days in the year concerts, theatrical and dance performances, exhibitions, trade fairs, events, galas, product presentations, open air cinema corporate functions and a whole lot more take place. Highlights like the Ruhr Triennial, the Duisburger Akzente and Traumzeit festivals have left their mark on the cultural profile of this prestigious event venue, which enjoys a transregional reputation.
