Storehouse
The Storehouse completed in 1902 was one of the first buildings on the site of the blast-furnace plant. The massive brickwork, the arches and the cast-iron window frames are typical of architecture around the turn of the century. These features have all been preserved. Until World War I, the building served as a workshop. After the War, it was used to store material and spares. The Storehouse is the first building that was renovated at the old mill work. As planning work began in 1990, architects moved in. The public hearings on the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park project were also held in the building. A cafeteria and a bar were soon incorporated and the Understanding Iron Exhibition was set up on the first floor.
